Abstrakt Solutions is a Salesforce Consulting Partner that serves companies in Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region, remotely and on site. Colorado Springs is one of our focus markets.
Colorado Springs is a short flight from St. Louis. We work on Central Time, one hour ahead of you, which gives your team our full morning plus overlap through your afternoon.
Figures cover the Colorado Springs, CO Metro Area (CO).
Defense shapes this economy more than almost anything else. The Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC, whose sources focus on Colorado Springs and El Paso County, lists an Army post that houses the 4th Infantry Division Headquarters, two Space Force bases and a service academy among the region’s military installations. It names two defense primes and a nonprofit space research center as major players that have recently added jobs, and lists a third prime contractor among the major aerospace and defense employers. The Chamber counts more than 200 space, aerospace, cybersecurity and defense companies in the sector.
Around that core, the Chamber & EDC targets cybersecurity and software development, advanced manufacturing, medical equipment and supplies manufacturing, hardware and springs manufacturing, and finance and insurance. It credits Catalyst Campus, the National Cybersecurity Center and Space ISAC, which it describes as the only all-threats security information source for the public and private space sector, with driving innovation. The University of Colorado Colorado Springs, the service academy with its 20 research centers, Pikes Peak State College and Colorado Technical University supply talent. In BEA output data, professional, scientific and technical services is the metro’s largest private sector by a wide margin, with health care second.
Largest private sectors, 2024 GDP share.
Defense contractors, engineering firms and software companies here run long capture cycles for government and prime-contractor work, so opportunity tracking, teaming partners and contract history need structure.
Providers and the medical equipment and supplies manufacturers the Chamber targets need patient, provider or customer service in Salesforce, designed around privacy requirements.
Builders and trade contractors serving a region with large military installations and steady development need estimating, job scheduling and field crews connected to the office.
Finance and insurance is a Chamber target sector, and banks, credit unions and insurers here need member and client views, compliant marketing and self-service portals.
Regional target sectors: Aerospace and Defense, Cybersecurity and Software Development, Advanced Manufacturing, Medical Equipment and Supplies Manufacturing, Hardware and Springs Manufacturing, Finance and Insurance (Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC - Target Sectors)
Defense and cybersecurity companies expect tight permissions, careful integrations and clear audit trails, so a security-focused review usually comes before any expansion.
Government-facing firms track capture efforts, teaming partners and contract vehicles that standard opportunity stages do not model well out of the box.
Contractors and service firms often schedule crews in calendars and spreadsheets. Moving that into Field Service pays off when estimates and actual costs line up.

Read the full post →Use account relationships to show which primes you team with on which pursuits, and add a teaming agreement object with status, workshare and NDA expiration dates. Opportunity fields for contract vehicle, prime or sub role and solicitation milestones keep capture reviews consistent. Do not store controlled technical data in a commercial org; if programs at the local Space Force bases require it, evaluate Salesforce Government Cloud or keep that material in a separate system. Abstrakt designs the capture process first, then configures.
Separate the two motions with record types and distinct sales processes rather than two orgs. Commercial deals fit standard Sales Cloud stages, while federal pursuits need gates for capture, proposal and award. Revenue Cloud helps when licenses vary by tier or deployment model. Buyers will also examine your own security posture, so enforce MFA, tighten sharing rules and consider Shield Event Monitoring before prospects run their vendor assessments.
Field Service tracks the installed base through assets tied to serial numbers, and work orders cover preventive maintenance, calibration and recall visits. Service Cloud cases capture complaints so quality teams can spot patterns. If complaints feed FDA reporting, design the case process with your quality staff and decide whether Salesforce or your QMS is the system of record. Abstrakt typically scopes the asset and case model first, then adds scheduling and mobile technician access.
