Salesforce consulting for Oklahoma City companies

Abstrakt Solutions is a Salesforce Consulting Partner working with organizations in Oklahoma City, Norman and the communities around the metro’s large Air Force installation, across Oklahoma, Cleveland and Canadian counties, remotely and on site. Oklahoma City is one of our focus markets.

Oklahoma City is a short flight from St. Louis, and because we share Central Time, a meeting on our calendar is at the same hour on yours. On a visit we can cover teams downtown and still reach Norman to the south or the air base area southeast of the city the same day.

BEA output data ranks health care first among Oklahoma City’s private industries, while oil and gas extraction and retail trade share second place at almost identical levels. The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber’s major-employers list, which reaches beyond the metro to include OSU-Stillwater, marks a statewide health system, three oil and gas producers, an electric utility, a travel-center chain, an arts-and-crafts retailer, two banks, an insurer, a construction-materials supplier and a payroll software firm as headquartered in the metro. The chamber calls that payroll firm a human capital management company headquartered in Oklahoma City and notes its selection for the S&P 500. Under its military heading, the chamber’s list also includes an Air Force base on the metro’s southeast side.

GreaterOKC’s economic development team targets aviation and aerospace, which it describes as the largest sector in both employment and economic impact, along with bioscience, energy, logistics, and shared services and regional headquarters. Its aerospace page counts more than 338 public- and private-sector aviation and aerospace firms in the area. The shared-services page lists national companies that run regional headquarters or shared-services operations in the region, spanning telecom, enterprise computing, car rental, cable, warehouse retail, insurance, air travel, motor clubs, government IT and customer-experience outsourcing, and it links to a Software/Cybersecurity Workforce Tax Credit resource for employers building technical teams.

Industries

Where Salesforce fits in Oklahoma City’s economy.

Largest private sectors, 2024 GDP share.

Health care and social assistance

9.4% of metro GDP

A locally headquartered hospital system is one of the metro’s major employers, and GreaterOKC also courts bioscience companies. Hospitals, clinics and home-health agencies use Salesforce for referral intake, care coordination and patient outreach under privacy controls.

Mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction

7.4% of metro GDP

Three oil and gas producers are all marked as metro headquarters on the chamber’s list. Producers and the service companies around them need one record of land, partner, vendor and field-service relationships alongside operational systems.

Retail trade

7.4% of metro GDP

A highway travel-center chain and a craft and home-decor retailer both appear as headquartered retailers on the chamber’s list. Multi-location retailers use Salesforce for loyalty and guest service, store operations cases, and marketing driven by purchase history.

Professional, scientific, and technical services

at least 5.8% of metro GDP

An S&P 500 payroll software company and shared-services operators in government IT and outsourced customer care reflect the metro’s pull for technology and business-services work. Service firms here need pipeline, delivery capacity and client health visible in one place.

Regional target sectors: Aviation and Aerospace (described as the largest sector in both employment and economic impact), Bioscience / Biotech, Energy, Shared Services / Regional HQ and back-office operations, Logistics (Greater Oklahoma City Chamber (GreaterOKC Economic Development))

Common Challenges

Common Salesforce challenges in these industries.

Relationships that sit outside the CRM

Oil and gas companies commonly track landowners, working-interest partners and vendors in land and accounting systems, so commercial teams lack a shared view of who they deal with.

Contact centers at national scale

Shared-services and regional headquarters sites often handle volume for an entire company, which demands routing, knowledge and reporting that work across many products and queues.

Aerospace work with tight access rules

Aviation and aerospace suppliers frequently mix commercial jobs with government programs, so permissions and data placement have to be decided before records are loaded.

FAQ

Salesforce consulting in Oklahoma City: questions.

Our Oklahoma City oil and gas company fields a steady stream of calls from mineral and royalty owners. Can Salesforce handle that?

It can, and it usually cuts call volume. Service Cloud logs each owner inquiry as a case tied to the owner and the relevant wells or units, with categories for payment questions, address changes and title documents. An Experience Cloud portal lets owners update contact details, download statements and track open requests themselves. Keep division orders and revenue data in your land and accounting systems, and expose read-only summaries so agents answer without switching screens.

We repair and overhaul aircraft components for customers that include work tied to the Air Force depot near Oklahoma City. How should we set up Salesforce?

Split commercial repair work from government programs at the start, using record types and separate sharing, since the two follow different contract and reporting rules. Track each unit by serial number as an asset, with repair orders, turnaround times and warranty status attached. Service Cloud handles customer status requests. If any program data is controlled, decide with your compliance lead whether it belongs in Salesforce at all, or whether Government Cloud is needed.

GreaterOKC recruits regional headquarters and shared-services operations. What does a good Salesforce rollout look like for a new operations center opening here?

Plan the center’s launch around hiring waves. Build omni-channel routing and the knowledge base before the first class starts, then use training sandboxes that mirror production so new agents practice on realistic cases. Supervisors need queue and handle-time dashboards from day one. If the parent company already runs Salesforce, agree on a release calendar and naming standards with its admin team so the new site extends the existing org rather than forking it.
