We work with Central New York utilities and energy firms, manufacturers, insurers and financial companies, health systems, and the drone and smart-systems businesses the region is working to grow.

Abstrakt Solutions is a Salesforce Consulting Partner whose Central New York work covers Syracuse, the town of Clay and the rest of Onondaga County, plus Madison and Oswego counties, delivered remotely and on site. Syracuse is one of our focus markets.
Syracuse is a short flight from St. Louis, and one trip can combine a downtown working session with a plant or site visit in Clay or out in Oswego County. Between visits, meetings run on our Central Time clock, which sits one hour behind Syracuse.
Figures cover the Syracuse, NY Metro Area (NY).
Utilities is the largest private sector in the Syracuse metro by output, an unusual lead, with manufacturing second and finance and insurance third. Onondaga County's list of major employers, which covers the county, starts with the region's academic medical center and includes a private research university, a downtown hospital system, an upstate grocery chain, a defense electronics contractor and an electric and gas utility; CenterState CEO's 2023 employer table adds a second hospital network. In October 2022, a memory-chip manufacturer announced plans to invest up to $100 billion over 20-plus years in a semiconductor megafab in Clay, which the New York State Governor's Office says will transform Central New York into a global semiconductor manufacturing hub.
CenterState CEO's target sectors cover a 12-county Central New York region, well past the three-county metro of Onondaga, Madison and Oswego. Its list includes advanced manufacturing, uncrewed aerial systems, smart systems, climate tech, transportation and logistics, and agriculture. Its work also includes Syracuse Surge, a strategy for growing the tech economy. The organization's September 2023 fact sheet counts 13 colleges and universities in the Syracuse metro, among them a private research university, a state medical university, SUNY ESF and Le Moyne College, with 85 colleges within 100 miles.
Largest private sectors, 2024 GDP share.
An electric and gas utility's place on Onondaga County's employer list and CenterState CEO's climate tech focus point to utilities, energy-service contractors and clean-tech firms that manage customer programs, contractor networks and service requests in volume.
Suppliers aiming to serve the planned memory-chip megafab in Clay, and those working on programs for the defense contractor on the county's employer list, need qualification tracking, quoting and account plans that span several years.
Insurers, banks and other financial firms in the metro's third-largest private sector need household and policyholder views, compliant outreach and clean handoffs between sales and service.
The academic medical center and two separate hospital systems all appear on regional employer lists. Salesforce projects in this sector usually address referral networks, patient access and community outreach, with privacy designed in.

When a major manufacturing investment comes to a region, local suppliers often need to track certifications, audits and bids far more formally than their current spreadsheets allow.
Utility and energy-service work depends on scheduling people and equipment. Customer updates, asset history and dispatch need to share one record to avoid repeat visits.
Organizations tied to universities or academic medical centers juggle student privacy, patient privacy and grant terms, which shapes sharing models and integrations from the start.

Read the full post →Treat qualification as a process of its own. Record each certification, audit and quality document against the account with expiry dates, and build a stage-based pursuit tracker so leadership can see which bids are stuck on paperwork and which on pricing. Revenue Cloud or CPQ helps when quotes involve many configured parts. Connect Salesforce to ERP early so lead times and capacity come from real data. We begin by mapping how you bid today before configuring anything.
Split the pipeline by buyer type, because government pursuits move through solicitations, teaming partners and contract vehicles while commercial deals follow a normal B2B path. Log test flights, demos and pilot programs as related records so engineering and sales share one timeline. Export-controlled drawings and specifications should stay out of ordinary objects, and it is worth asking early whether Government Cloud is warranted. Once aircraft are in customers' hands, Service Cloud with asset records covers repairs, firmware questions and fleet support.
Field Service links every job to the customer, the site and the installed asset, so crews arrive knowing the equipment history and permit status. Work types set durations and required skills, and dispatchers balance crews across Onondaga, Madison and Oswego counties from one console. Mobile checklists collect photos and sign-offs needed for rebate or utility program paperwork. Launch with scheduling and work orders first, then add parts inventory once technicians trust the app.
